Nurse: Resignation

As important as it is to know when and how to get a job, its equally and arguably even more important to know when its time to resign. The following are a list of reasons that can hep you decide if it is your time to resign.
  • You work in a hostile working environment
  • Your bullied, and management is complacent
  • Your constantly dealing with workplace politics: rumors, gossip, betrayal, back-stabbing etc.
  • Lack of management support
  • Your company is in financial trouble
  • Your work is consistently not being recognized or devalued
  • Your opinions are not wanted, valued, or ignored
  • Your stress levels are on a constant high
  • Your health is deteriorating
  • You absolutely hate/dread going to work

A resignation is the acceptance of something undesirable at the moment, yet inevitable for your benefit. Sometimes, we can be so optimistic that things, people, and situations will change. Yet, that doesn't always happen, leaving people in jobs they absolutely hate for years. Time is something precious that is given to us. Ask yourself, is it really to your benefit to spend 40 hours a week at a job with attributes similar to those stated above?

How did you decide it was time to resign?
