Getting certified in CPR/BLS as well as ACLS is a must for health care professionals. Getting certified will help train individuals to act fast during emergencies, and help save lives when time is of the essence. Here are steps to getting your certification:
1) Go to the american heart association website, and find/sign-up to a class near you.
2) After signing up they will give you an access code and link to the american heart association to do an online pre test.
- BLS/CPR: There are 10 pretest modules that took 2hrs to complete, and only 20 minutes to complete the pre-test exam at the end . (You can take it an unlimited amount of times)
- ACLS: There are no pre-test modules to watch, and it took 1 hour to complete the pre test exam. You need to get 70% or higher to pass. (You can take it an unlimited amount of times)
- The test has about 60 questions: each topic, like rhythm identification, pharmacology and practical application all have 20 questions each.
- BLS/CPR: It took 10 minutes to complete the in-class skills.
- ACLS: It took 3 hours to complete the in class skills. You take an exam at the end.
